Who Will Win Champions League 2019 Odds Today

The 2019-20 UEFA Champions League season continues Friday, August 7, with four remaining second legs of the Round of 16. Four teams are already in the quarterfinals, as Atalanta meets Paris SG, while RB Leipzig takes on Atletico Madrid.

In the bottom half of a draw, Manchester City or Real Madrid will meet Lyon or Juventus, while the winner of Napoli versus Barcelona matchup takes on Bayern Munich or Chelsea. The remainder of the Champions League season will take place in Lisbon, Portugal, and the quarterfinals start Wednesday, August 12.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, this UCL season is one of a kind. All quarterfinals and semifinals will be single-leg fixtures, as well as the final clash at Estadio do Sport Lisboa e Benfica on August 23, 2020.

The Champions League winner odds are already available, despite the fact we don’t know all eight quarterfinalists. It’s about time to take a closer look at the latest updates and see who will win the 2020 UEFA Champions League?

2019-20 UEFA Champions League Winner Odds

  1. UEFA Champions League odds According to Oddschecker, Manchester City is a 16/5 favorite to win the Champions League, followed by Barcelona and Liverpool at 11/2.
  2. The Citizens are 10/3 odds to win outright. (betting odds taken from bet365 on August 30th, 2019 at 11:33 pm) Did Barcelona do enough in the transfer market? The Catalans were starting to be a bit of a fading force in the Champions League.
  3. Off the back of their record 6th Champions League victory in 2019, Liverpool are certainly one of the favourites to win again in 2020. Whilst few teams have won back to back victories, Liverpool are strong contenders to pull this off, particularly since the team's line up is mostly unchanged and is looking just as strong as it was last season.
  4. 29 August 2019 D efending champions Liverpool will face Napoli for the second season in a row, while beaten finalists Tottenham were paired with Bayern Munich in the draw for the Champions League.

Interestingly, the betting sites consider Manchester City and Bayern Munich as the strongest favorites to win the Champions League this year, although neither of these two teams has clinched the spot in the quarterfinals.

However, the Bavarians have a huge 3-0 lead from the first leg at Chelsea, so they should easily finish the job in front of the home fans. On the other side, the Citizens welcome Real Madrid after a 2-1 victory in the first leg, and that could be a tricky game for Pep Guardiola’s team.

Tips:

Real Madrid is a heavyweight club with plenty of world-class players on their roster. Los Blancos are 13-time European champions, so I wouldn’t write them off so easily.

While Real Madrid is the most successful team in the European Cup and Champions League history, the Citizens have never been European champions. That should be a huge motive for Manchester City players, but they have to thrive under pressure and prove Man City is not a small club anymore.

On the other hand, the Bavarians are true giants. Bayern Munich is a five-time European champ and a five-time runner-up, while the Citizens are still searching for their first Champions League Final.

As well as Manchester City, PSG is another skipjack. The Parisians have never been in the Champions League Final, too, but they possess a bunch of top-notch players. PSG is a firm -152 fave to eliminate Atalanta, but the Parisians could have problems to build up their form.

What About Barca and Atletico?

Both Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are listed at +800 odds to win the Champions League Trophy. Atletico eliminated the reigning champs Liverpool in the Round of 16 and will meet RB Leipzig in the quarterfinals, while Barca plays Napoli in the second leg of the Round of 16 after a 1-1 draw in the first leg in Italy.

Barcelona is having a terrible season. Blaugrana failed to retain the Spanish La Liga title, and the five-time European champions are far away from their top form.

Note:

Lionel Messi is still the key player for Barca, but he needs way more help from his teammates.

I don’t see Barcelona winning the Champions League this season. If they eliminate Napoli, Blaugrana will probably take on Bayern Munich in the last eight, and I think that will be the end of the road for Lionel Messi’s team.

On the other side, Atletico Madrid is always a tough rival to beat. Since Diego Simeone took the helm in 2011, Los Indios have reached the Champions League Final on two occasions and lost both finals to Real Madrid in 2014 and 2016.

As I’ve mentioned, Atletico Madrid eliminated Liverpool in the previous round which is undoubtedly a huge boost for Los Indios. Simeone is a great tactician and loves to lean on its defense, so whoever meets Atletico will have a tall task to win.

Dark Horses and Underdogs

While Chelsea is in dire straits, Napoli, Juventus, Lyon, and Real Madrid all stand a chance against their opponents in the Round of 16. Napoli will have to score at Barcelona and earn at least a draw, but that’s not impossible at all. Also, Real Madrid will try its best to upset the odds in Manchester.

Juventus and Lyon will take on each other, and the French team has a 1-0 lead from the first leg at home. Still, the bookies expect Juventus to overcome this deficit, so Lyon is a massive +10000 underdog to win the Champions League.

Note:

Whoever wins here will take on Manchester City or Real Madrid in the quarterfinals, while Bayern Munich lurks in the semis. Therefore, I would be surprised to see Juve or Lyon in the finals.

Both Atalanta at +1000 and RB Leipzig at +1400 look like serious long shots, so if you want to go with the proper dark horse, take Real Madrid at +2500. You should know that no true underdog has managed to win the UEFA Champions League since Porto in 2004.

Real Madrid will have a mountain to climb against Manchester City, but if Los Blancos pull off an upset, they will end up as the strongest favorites to win the Champions League this season. Mark my words, as many look for a comfortable victory by the Citizens.

Atalanta has been playing entertaining soccer for most of the season. The Goddess can score against anyone, but Atalanta’s defense is a big issue. It’s a similar case with RB Leipzig that is quite an inexperienced team with a 32-year-old Julian Nagelsmann at the helm.

Champions League Winner – My Betting Pick

From this point of view, my top favorite to win the 2019-20 Champions League is Bayern Munich. The Bavarians have dominated their rivals in the German Bundesliga and are riding a tremendous 17-game winning streak. Furthermore, they are undefeated since December 2019.

Champions

The Bavarians still need to finish the job against Chelsea, but I see that game as an excellent warm-up for the rest of their campaign. Keep in mind that Bayern Munich could have a tough matchup with Barca in the quarterfinals, while Manchester City or Real Madrid lurks in the semifinals.

Who will win champions league 2020

Hereof, if you want to take someone from the top half of a draw, I suggest you go with PSG. On paper, the Parisians are a way better team than Atalanta, Atletico Madrid, and RB Leipzig. The likes of Kylian Mbappe, Neymar, Angel Di Maria, and Marco Verratti make PSG a strong fave for a reason, so the Parisians are a nice choice at +500 odds.

Finally, keep your eyes on Atletico Madrid. Los Indios are -164 favorites to reach the semis and are certainly capable of beating PSG. The fact that all games will be single-leg fixtures make this Champions League edition very interesting.

You know what they say – the ball is round and everything is possible in 90 minutes.

The 2019-20 UEFA Champions League ground round is set!

Manchester City yet again have the easiest path to the knockout round.🤔How does that always seem to happen?

The proverbial “Group of Death” features Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund, and Inter Milan.

Reigning champs Liverpool probably like their chances to win their group. Reigning runner-up Tottenham…not as much.

What do the odds tell us?

Well, Man City is definitely advancing. Their -2500 to win the group makes them by far the biggest favorite.

Who Will Win Champions League 2019 Odds 2020

The second best odds to win their bracket is “Group of Death” inhabitants Barcelona at -305. Liverpool are certainly favored, but not by as much as you’d expect, at just -286.

The weakest bracket, Group G, has their Pot 4 squad as the favorites. RB Leipzig are +130 to win the group. Maybe it’s time to rethink giving the Russian federation an automatic Pot 1 spot? Despite being in Group G, Zenit St Petersburg are the longshot to win at +500.

Ajax still isn’t getting respect. Watch to see if they keep all of their starting XI past September 2nd, but if they do, that +325 to win Group H is great value.
